    Flash Drives + USB Port

Is it possible [excuse my ignorance] to further increase the capacity of the Xoom Wifi by using flash/thumb drives with a mini-USB connector cable. Obviously, by this method, one could have a series of mini-drives with varied info on each one - that could be utilized at any point depending on the topic that the user chooses to address??? I am aware that the tablet can be connected to a PC and, by this method, have access to all files contained therein...but the portability of flash/thumb drives would make a tablet even more diversified [if it can work]?

    Thanks for your input,

    Thank you !

Can you direct me to a tutorial [or series of...]that would teach a newbie how to recognize and locate folders/files after connecting a mini-USB cable with flash drive affixed?? I am also interested in learning more about the transferring of folders/files from and to my PC....is there a tutorial on that topic, as well? I have Astro File Manager installed.
    Thanks again for you input.

Just navigate to the flash drive with the file explorer of your choice.

OK...but, having tried this before I posted....the flash drive does not show up in the Astro sofware. That is to say...I can't find it. As we all know...when you plug in a flash drive to your PC...it shows up as a separate drive and is easily identified. This does not occur in my Xoom....why ???

Are you rooted or stock? The only file manager I could find it with was Root Explorer at media/usb.

I am stock....is this why Astro does not show the drive? I don't feel competent enough to 'root' and, am still waiting for the 4.0 upgrade.

Try ES File Explorer. It should show up as either /usbotg or just /usbmount

    Droid-Xer,
I did what you suggested....connected my mini-USB to the tablet....NOTHING ! No new files showed...no usbmount or usbotg. Is there a loading step that I am missing or do you just connect the mini-USB...then connect the flash drive....?????

You might try one of the drive mount apps, I don't believe this one needs root. Is you thumb drive formatted to fat32?
