Connecting Kodak Playsport ZX5?!

Hi,

I recently bought myself a nice Kodak ZX5 to go to Florida with this summer and I really wanted to use the Xoom's camera connection ability to load my photos/video onto my Xoom. I bought an OTG cable (not official moto camera connection cable) and when I plug I into my Kodak nothing seems to happen on my Xoom, it doesn't seem to recognise it. All it does is charge the camera? Is there any reason to why this isn't working?

Is anyone else out there using a Kodak Playsport with their Xoom's? Would be interesting to know if anyone can get them working together!

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. It could be the OTG cable you purchased, I bought the Motorola Camera Connection Kit and it works on my cameras. The gallery app should pop up when plugged in.

Hi ggrant thanks I love this forum Yes I was thinking that too however when I use this cable with my Samsung Galaxy S2 I can easily connect a usb flash drive and it works fine...or is this not the same thing? I'm running the latest ICS update btw

The only thing esle is to make sure the Xoom is on and awake and the camera is on when you plug it in. Don't have a Kodak but I believe some cameras you have an option to srt even when plugging into your PC. I'm sure you'll get some more answers later in the day.

Thanks I have tried this but nothing seems to work! So disappointed! Nobody else tried this?!

Try going to settings, storage, upper right corner is three dot icon. Click that for USB connection settings, change option to PTP and see if that helps.
