Xoom wont connect to wifi

Hi everyone, im new to this forum as ive never had a problem before, not sure if ive posted in the right place.

I got my motorola xoom for xmas 2011 and its just the wifi one, have never had a problem till now, all of a sudden it just wont connect to the wifi in our house, it just comes up loading and then says web page unavailable even though i know it is, i have tried disconnecting the wifi frommy xoom and then turning it back on, it will load maybe one page and then as soon as i close it and try to open something else it wont load and comes up webpage unavailable. I have a laptop that uses the wifi and that works perfectly fine as does my phone. Is my xoom faulty? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Also change the routers channel and see if there is a software update for your router.

No i havent reset the router, i will give that a try now.

So i reset the router and now i cant connect to my nicknamed wifi, the one my husband set up, its now connected to the dlink router connection, does that mean that my router no longer has the nickname for it we set up and i need to do it again? hope that made sense, sorry im not very technically minded.

Yes! It restored itself to factory defaults! Password could of changed too?

oh really, uh oh my hubby is going to kill me!!! lol what do i do to do reset the password? go into the router settings and do it from there?

Haha, I hope not! JK. Go into a browser and type in your ip adress into the url bar and you will be at your routers settings. You can change the password and everything but you might need a password to do that! It might be on a label on the router labeled something like system password. If all else fails call the company to get the default password

Thankyou so much for your help, i will get my husband to have a look at resetting the password tonight as i dont know my ip address or anything like that, lol, thanks once again

My husband managed to reset the router password etc and now my xoom is back in business and we have a secure wifi connection, thanks again for your help, Ive just added this forum to my favourites so i can browse through it all properly as im sure there are many more things i can do with my xoom that im not aware of.
