I'm having a similar problem. Does not show in installed apps. But, like you, when I try to install, goes straight to play.

No problem for me and I can't recreate your issue sorry

Mintaka. Let us see if any others end up with this problem.

When I bought my Xoom brand new I had this issue. I'd tap Youtube and it would say that the app isn't installed, and when I went into un-install it to try and re-install the un-install button was greyed out. When I tried to just install it in the marketplace through the Xoom it would just cycle through the installation procedure but never downloaded. Finally, I went on my computer and went to the android marketplace on there. I set it to download Youtube to my Xoom, and Viola! Youtube now works! Weird glitch, I know.
Edit: I never did get Youtube to un-install. I guess it just wrote over the Youtube app when I got it to install? I don't have Youtube showing up twice in my apps list.

YouTube was already installed when I got my Xoom but when I went to the market, it showed me all of my paid apps from my phone & also YouTube which I know I didn't pay for. Anyway I installed all my phone apps & then went to install YouTube but it wouldn't install. When I try to sign into YouTube that was already on the Xoom it wont let me?

How do I recreate what you did? I am having the same youtube issue on my new xoom.

I. Am having the same problem. When I downloaded it said it was not installed. when I hit install. No response. Tried downloading again with the same results.
