I assume that you mean hotel rooms that only have a wired (CAT5) cable connection in the room?

I suggest that you buy a cheap wireless router to take with you. You can pick them up new for $25, but I'm sure you could get a used one for much less. Many of them can be completely configured thru the wireless connection (although sometimes initial configuration needs a wired connection - but you could have that all setup from home before leaving).

Consider a travel router. They are tiny and easy to work with.

Most hotels have wireless in the rooms now a days. But if not, you would have to bring your own router.

I spend a great deal of time in hotels world wide and there are still many that are wired only. This is what I've been using:

    TRENDnet-300Mbps-Wireless-N-Travel-TEW-654TR

The router itself is so teeny tiny that it can fit in a shirt pocket!

I've stayed in several hotels in the last two years that offered wifi and cat5 connections. Sometimes the wifi connections were so bad I had to use the cable. Now with my 3g zoom, however, that will never be an issue anymore.

im in the same boat here. only a wired connection in my hotel room and the radio shack here in cairo only has the giant wireless routers. there is a store around the corner that sells apple products, i wonder if they have that airport express there. that could work.
