Wifi Problem
Basically after l tried to install ad hoc for my xoom. After that each time l try to turn of wifi it show turning wi-fi on... And l cant believe it takes so long like 30min or more. l was just wondering is there way to fix that problem otherwise xoom is working perfectly. And if l dont have wi-fi l dont have much thinks to do with this peace of hardware. Could someone give me reply or any suggestions what could l do?
And l am really sorry if its discussed already, any ways l could find something like this problem.

This has happened to me, although under different circumstances. May be obvious, but I assume you've tried rebooting?

perhaps you should reset the router to see if that helps...
i would also do a search as there have been reports of routers that posed compatibility problems.
check to make sure that the firmware for your router is up-to-date.
also, i would check the channel the router is using and maybe try others to relieve possible congestion with other competing devices.
also, what version are you currently running?
forgive me.... welcome to the forum and please don't hesitate to ask for assistance!

Sorry l didnt included. The problem is l cant turn on wi-fi anymore because l tried instla wpa suplicant and l guess it was failure. Wi fi was working before that, but not on my networks. And l have already restarted xoom. l think problem is deeper with files not just routers. For now l cant turn on wifi and detect anything and its showing turning on wifi.. on xoom and l know its stuck.

hello everybody
My problem is similar. WiFi is turned on, have connected to internet, but can't open anything. Signal strenght is ok but no page is available.
Did anyone had same problem?
Maybe my router should be changed? or xoom is inetfering somehow with laptop?
I bought Motorola 8.2 Media Edition because my kid start to using laptop for neverends..., but I must say was little bit disappointed about micro sd car slot... , amazon didnt say clearly that there is no slot. Funniest is manual book which says that there is a slot, I almost teared out rubber from this place before I watch clip on youtube which showed the truth.
But if the problem with connectio will be terminated I thing will be happy with this product.
last question: is there any possibility to connect outer memory to xoom?
regards

wifi issue sounds like your router. You have local access only, so maybe a firewall or the like is blocking you. Check manuals to see how to add devices.
Yes, buy a USB otg cable, and plug in whatever you want
they're about £2 off amazon.

Ok, l done the hard way restored xoom to total zero in factory settings. So now l have 3.0 version. Any advice how far should l go with? So l can enable ad hoc network on my device.

Ok , tommorow I call my internet supplier and ask them about router. But at the moment I think the problem was with different google account logins. First I tryed to set up new account but it was long waiting time. I interrupted process, went to laptop and setup different account and login in xoom. I think from that time problem has started.
Now I logout both acounts and login one again - everything looks fine.
You mean I will buy cable mini usb - usb female; put pendrive into and xoom will see it? sounds good
thank You again.
ps. sorry for my funny english, but I'm Pole living in Ireland.

i believe to install external hdd you need three things:
1. otg cable
2. this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...aW1wb3J0ZXIiXQ..
3. flash drive
i have the app installed, but have yet to try it, although i hear it works great!
sorry: did not notice the xoom media edition reference...
will defer to alexn's knowledge of that product.
