    Home and back buttons being activated on their own

    I'm having this weird problem with my Xoom. Sometimes the home and back buttons are activated repeatedly, many times in a row, for a few seconds. It hinders any app usage completely; and I don't know what to do. I reset it, and the problem continues. Is it a known bug?

    Hmm... been using any laggy apps? (Browser with multiple tabs, image heavy ones etc?) The first thing that comes to mind is that they're delayed presses all happening at once. No idea though.

    Tried a reset? Fixes like, 90% of issues.

    Edit: I presume there's no moisture on the screen?

    Yes, I turned it off and on again, it keeps happening from time to time. No heavy apps loaded. And no, no moisture on the screen.

    By reset, I mean with the volume/power buttons. I can never remember which volume key though.

    good idea alexn... try a "soft reboot" like alexn stated: simultaneously depress the power button and the volume "up" rocker switch until the xoom reboots (do not release until reboot) then release both.
    this has been a cure for many problems.

    it is also a possible sign of past moisture damage on the board, so let's rule out that you ever had water damage?

    Yes, I tried rebooting too.
    I don't think I ever let a drop of water fall on my Xoom.

    pardon me for sounding rude, it is not my intention...
    please let us know if you happened to follow post #5, as in, verbatim...
    simply turning the device off and then on does not constitute a reboot.
    i have had water migrate under the glass during a storm, during a backpacking trip...
    fortunately there was no long term damage.
    let us know...
