Is it goosed? My touchscreen is slow when plugged in and unusable
It's fine when not plugged in. Tried a hard boot and a full factory reset. Still the same - hardware issue?

Are you using the OEM charger?
yes - oem

Have you tried to reboot the xoom while plugged in? I see you tried a hard reset, but how about a regular reboot. Also, do you have any widgets?
Yes, I have tried to reboot when plugged in. No widgets ATM as a complete reset was done.
Just tried a hard reset when plugged in and its better but *really* laggy and I tested an unlock pattern and it won't read it. It wasn't like this yesterday!
I think I am going to exchange it.

noticed that when switching it on the red privacy LED flashed about 5 times too...weird
EDIT - think this was as I never held the button down for long enough...
It happens when charger is plugged in and not switched on at the mains too. Seems to be some sort of short!

Could be a charger issue too. But ya the safest way to go is to get a new one. I hate this OEM charger. Seems like it can be troublesome.
OK, in the store problem not happening. We plug in the charger, no problem. We turn the socket on and again it still works. I'm thinking there must be some kinda short the car ride has sorted out, so take it home again thinking I have a year if it happens again.
I get it back home and...it happens again. Weird as it never happened the day I bought it. I try the socket in the conservatory where I used it on Friday and it's fine. I have tried another socket on the same ring as the dodgy socket and there is no problem there either.
So, if you experience similar issues try another socket on a different ring. How weird. The sparky's coming round next week as a precaution to check the socket out.

Hmm. Thats really weird. Seems like a socket issue then. If not then maybe a connector issue. Keep us posted.
Will do thanks for your help +1
