Motorola XOOM MAJOR Screen banding/flicker after 3.1 update

    Hey guys.
Definitely not a n00b to Android so I know what I'm doing hacking-wise.
But out of curiosity I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue/problem with their tablets.

Xoom 3G (not activated, only use wifi and tether)
I'm getting major screen flickering/banding on the tablet. When I first got the device (3-4 days after launch) I noticed it every once in a great while. It seemed to happen during the opening of certain apps...i.e Stock Browser, Facebook app among a few others. But it quickly went away and I never thought much about it again.
Now, after the 3.1 update the other day, I've been using the tablet heavily and several times have noticed it only happening when my battery level gets down to around 20%. And it won't go away until its fully charged. Meaning if I unplug it @ 60% battery, it still happens.

The screen will flicker on the boot logo, boot animation and homescreen as well as an opened application. The video below only shows the home/lockscreen as I didn't want to make a 20 minute video showing the entire booting process. But rest assured it happens then too.

I'm unlocked, rooted and on 3.1
Just to cover all bases, this problem happened before I took the unlocking/rooting venture.

I'm afraid it's going to be a hardware issue that will have to send the device back to Moto. I'm not worried about not having a tablet for a few days, just wonder if they will be able to tell if I had it unlocked. I know I can relock it and only have the approved firmware on board. Just not sure how I should handle this. It is much worse now since the 3.1 update, so maybe I could tell them its been acting up since then. Not trying to defraud them, as I haven't really done anything to harm the device. But technically I did void my warranty.

    Thoughts?

Sorry for the video quality. Taken at night on a DX (doh!!!!) but still clearly visible.

try booting Oem firmware and see whether it fixes. maybe a driver in the rooted version of what you downloaded is messed up.

Already did that. Downloaded the stock 3.0.1 from Moto's site and flashed it. Reapplied the update and still happens.
Also, mentioned in the OP that it did this out of the box but I forgot about it and never thought about it until it started doing it really bad a few days ago.

Not giving up yet, but chances are this is hardware issue.

I've flashed every method possible. Using BRD's method and also doing it via P3Droid's method.
I never have any issues flashing/rooting/unlocking. That process always goes well. Its just the actual usability of the device.
And I've made sure to redownload several times the files from different locations (including the official Moto files from Moto's site) so I know there isn't an issue with the file integrity.

sounds like you will have no choice but to send it in. I would flash it back to stock. In the other cases where people brick the device and cant access usb cable they probably wont troubleshoot but they will turn yours on and see whats wrong and if they see a different copy they may void your warranty. Dont risk it.
