Got a brand new or refurbished XOOM?????

Hello to all the XOOM owners,

I am totally new to XOOM, got question, I just bought one from ebay, and was told was brand new but I think it is refurbished. Why?

When I check the motorola web site Motorola XOOM and it show the xoom warranty will expires at 06/20/2012 (today is 08/02/2011, also the xoom claimed never power on and getting on the internet), wondering how the warranty is left less than a year (365 days), if it is a brand new never used xoom, it should have 365 days right? How come it is showing the warranty will expires 06/20/2012, must be someone registered it on 06/21/2011, right?

I got some information from the box
    SKU: 00001NARGNLX
    Seq#: 0000689511
    3/20/2011 2:56:10 PM L19
(I believe those are manufacture product number or something)

On the Xoom, the Android ver is 3.0.1
As I understand, it should be 3.0 as a completely brand new right? Other than that, it should be either rooted or refurbished, right?

Need some owners to help, do I get ripping off for a buying a fake brand new XOOM.

    Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum.Version 3.2 is currently being sent out to the US wifi Xooms. When I registered my Xoom the warranty expired 14 months after I bought it, didn't make any sense to me. With the warranty expiring 10 months after you got it I would say it was either refurbished or slightly used.

Welcome to the forum. When I purchased my Xoom it was already on 3.01.

I can clearly see the USB port had been plugged before (it left some scratches on it), is it a very clear evident for saying someone did used it? or it may be scratched by the manufacturer?

What else I can check, if it is brand new never used?

I guess you could call Motorola customer support, explain your problem and see if they can tell when and who registered it.

That'd probably be the best bet.

Contacting to Motorola should be the best way, but want to see if there anyone can give me more ideas as what I got.

Calling to Motorola is another time challenging for me cause their hot line is always busy (for English please press 1, then for ##@@## please press ##, then for %%^^$$ please press ##.........)

There's nothing you can tell from the settings unless it's rooted and for that you need to go to about tablet and see what kernel you have. If it's got a hacked kernel you either got a refurb or used Xoom.
