    Back to 3.0.1, update to 3.1 fails...I really need some help

    OK...long story short. This XOOM was in use by a colleague and was rooted. I was asked to restore the device to original factory condition, which I thought I did. However, the 3.1 update fails to install every time. Also, if I re-lock the bootloader the device boots into bootloader only. I'm not sure what to do at this point to get the 3.1 update (and eventually 3.2) on the device.

    This is a Verizon 3G XOOM. I flashed the files from Motorola for the HRI66 release (downloaded directly from the Motorola site) using ADB.

    According to my XOOM:

    Android version: 3.0.1
    Kernel: 2.6.36.3-g2a65edc android-build@apa28 #1
    Build Number: HRI66

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Try running back through Steady's guide here: [How To] Return To Stock (3G/4G HR166)

    Looks like one of the steps didn't fully take and you may need to run back through and get it back to 3.0.1 and then run things back up to 3.1 again.
