Kernal update via adb (Xoom connected to pc)

Hi: I have rooted 3.2 Xoom, and downloaded 2.0.0 kernel to PC. Don't have microsd card yet (on it's way from newegg).

Is it possible to upgrade the kernel by adb (connecting xoom to PC)? That is how I rooted stock 3.2. Thanks.

You should be able to. Just unzip the kernel zip and move the modules to where they need to be.

OK. I want to check once before I do it.

"Tiamat-Kernel-2.0.0-Katana-stockgpu.zip" kernel has 3 directories, Kernel, META-Inf, and System. All the modules are in system directory (under lib under modules). I can adb push modules one by one to /system/lib/modules/ from pc.

But what about kernel, and META-Inf directories. Do I ignore that? Or they also get pushed somewhere?

Also, the thread with "LOTS of Pics" talks about boot.img files in the kernal.zip file that has to be flashed first using "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command from pc. However the "Tiamat-Kernel-2.0.0-Katana-stockgpu.zip" file has no "boot.img". Also no void.fstab.

Please help. I have never updated the kernel, new to xoom (really noob) and only thing I have done is rooted 3.2 from stock 3.2 xoom.

Waiting for confirmation before I do something wrong. Thanks.

You need to repush the bcm4329.ko module. This is causing the wifi error. It might be best to wait for the SD if you have more issues.

I did repush from stockgpu. Should I repush from overclocked kernel? By the way do you have the 3.2 rooted (but not timat 2.0.0) bcm4329.ko ? I can repush that? Thanks.

No I have 3G xoom. Is there a bcm4329 module in the zip? There should be. Just for adb remount and adb push...

Yes, there was bcm4329 in both the timat kernel for 3.2. I tried both, still no wifi. I have one which is bcm4329.ko.p in the 3.2 root kernel. How can I take that expand to get bcm4329.ko from bcm4329.ko.p?
