New kind of Xoom coming?
Motorola’s Android Tablet Prototype Has Twice XOOM’s Resolution
Rodge, The Droid Guy
Motorola is said to be in a rush to come up with a prototype 10.1 inch Android tablet to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.* This may be good news for Motorola fans or those who want something new in the hope that it comes with better features than the many tablets we already have in the market.* Despite the fact that the tablet promises to have double the resolution of Motorola Xoom, the news is not so exciting because there is nothing so far to indicate that the tablets will have anything we have not seen before – except for the tablet’s screen resolution.
According to folks are Fudzilla, inside sources from Motorola say that there is currently a prototype tablet with a 2048 X 1536 resolution – now that is something to look forward to.* This is such an incredible resolution; such a high resolution on a tablet would be impressive considering that it is twice the resolution of the Motorola XOOM tablet which has a 1280 X 800 resolution.
Aside from that, the prototype tablet has a 4:3 screen aspect ratio.* Sources indicate that the tablet’s design is much thinner than the XOOM.* The sources at Fudzilla had no clue on the tablet’s processor or memory but it is likely that it will have an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core chip because NVIDIA is a name popular with high performance graphics and because Motorola and NVIDIA have had such a fruitful relationship so far.* It would still be good though if the tablet has a Snapdragon processor – especially if it is the Snapdragon S4 or S4 pro.
No other news or rumors are known so far on any other developments, the price, the OS or the release date.* Since what is seen is just a prototype, it is likely that Motorola may be working to complete and unveil the tablet in time for the holidays in the last quarter of 2012 or early 2013.* For now, we have to just wait and see whether Motorola will pull this revolutionary development in the tablet market off.

And a locked bootloader...
They better have the newest OS on it when it ships or what is the point.
Will probably be their last tablet, after how they've treated their customers outside of the US its sales figures will be teribble in the rest of the world because no one will trust anything they say about its software update plan.
According to my calculator that's three times the resolution, not twice.
Annoying signature, but not as annoying as yours
This should have been ready to be shipped two months ago. Don't think anyone outside of the US would even consider Motorola again after the fiasco updating the OS.
Nexus 4 - CyanMod 10.1
SGS-II - Rooted - Jedi Mind Trick VX3
Samsung Note II - Jedi Master 13
Motorola Xoom - WiFi - Rooted - EOS 4.2.1 Nightlies
I hope they don't charge a premium for it. I really like my xyboard but it was way too expensive.
Why would Google ask them to design a tablet based on ICS? They've already updated the OS to JB 4.1... Seems kind of odd... I would think the device would be one in their Nexus lineup of 5 devices thru Google Play they were wanting to do... which would be awesome because the Int'l version would get the OS update straight from Google... I would imagine the price would also be subsidized by Google... Here's to hoping!
