    Motorola XOOM 3.1 Update Has Started in Europe, includes SD card activation



    According to Motorola’s European Facebook page, the company has finally begun to launch the latest Android 3.1 update for the tablet outside of the US. It’s going to be a patchy, gradual process, as ever with these things, but IT HAS BEGUN!

    It's great that everyone else is getting 3.1 but it pisses me off that Moto is not giving all of us the SD Card Activation.

    Why? If you read between the lines there, that means the rumors of the July release of the update for the US SD activation are either true or it may be moved up. But they had to get the 3.1 update out to all the people who haven't gotten it yet everywhere else in the world.

    Hey I am not mad about everyone else getting the 3.1. I am glad for that. And let's hope you are right about the sd activation for us. But it would be nice if Moto would actually tell us that it is coming like the Moto Europe is doing.

    Unless this is just an OEM hack to allow SD support. Remember, the non US Xooms are not GEDs.

    from what i have been able to find out this is a Motorola update that enables the sd card. since we have the US version we are still waiting for the google release of it. hopefully that will be the 3.2 that we are hearing about but who knows...

    I guess this is a change to the ramdisk and a few tweaks to the OS.

    I'm expecting Team Tiamat to rip this out and package it in Tiamat ROM

    Does anyone know for sure where in Europe the update has started?

    I am in the UK and there is no update for me yet.

    We can hope, especially since rumors indicate that 3.2 is going to be the last release prior to ICS.
