Market Analyst Rips Honeycomb, Suggests Google Stick To The Web

Industry tech analyst Trip Chowdhry is attempting to make a name for himself this week by publicly trashing on Honeycomb, the world’s first real Android tablet operating system. From the sounds of it, Chowdhry received his review unit from Motorola and did not have the brain-power to understand how it works (that unfair to say?). He specifically said that Android 3.0 was made “by the geeks, for the geeks, and of the geeks,” and that it had little chance of mass adoption. He pointed to constant crashing, a short battery life, and auto-wrapping of text as being some of its downfalls. Are you laughing yet? I am.

I sincerly hope that google does not listen to folks like you as this can lead to honycomb being out of the market in one year.

The sucess to ipad1 is that apple aimed the product at the business world I hope that motorola and google does the same.

Also google has to update the honeycomb interface. They need it to go one step beyond apple ios system.

If the honeycomb team is able to come out with a full fledge update in one week it will give them a two months advantage over apple as I expect the ipad2 to be in short Supply in the next three months, this will give folks like me to show the walk in ioad the advantage of the motorola zoom.

The geek argument is stupid . I want Android not to overcool the gps or whatever it is to 1.5 megatrons. I want it because it has widgets that make my life a lot easier . Mint.com widget saves me time opening browser or laptop to check my account balance . Weather widget saves me time from looking at weather channel or opening weather app. I could go on all day. Just because I want a device that will save time and make my life more productive doesn't mean I'm a geek . To be honest if Apple iPad had widgets I would probably get it.

I love my Xoom, and I can admit that you do need to be able to think to use it. So from this can I assume that you do not need to think to use an Ipad? The Xoom rocks, and if that makes me from a nerd, for a nerd, well I accept those terms.

Is he for real?? Designed only for the geeks?? Well, I happen to be a 60 yr ole' lady, and I am NO GEEK (lol) yet, I have found the Xoom to be very easy to make my way around. Definitely an iPad biased review.

To broaden the buyers' market beyond the workforce seems smarter to me. I am retired, and love this device.

Ya you give someone who sits behind a desk all day an ipad and its easy to use. You give a noob an android device and it has a learning curve. Once you get the hang of it, you see its easier to use than you first thought. That was my impression anyway when I went from an incredible (one day) to the Droid x.
