I was a long time user of mobo player, but then i found mxvideo and it is so much better. It plays everything and it hides the status bar on the bottom when watching which is a huge deal for me. Other than that i have also had good experiances converting video with dvdcatalyst and with handbreak. Handbreak is free.

I agree. MX Video Player has played everything I've tried on it so far. It's a great player and you don't have to mess around converting anything.

I find that when you convert video files, set 128k sound, because 192k won't work

rive - thank you for that link. I was musing over how to approach video playing on my relatively new Xoom and I have downloaded the RockPlayer.apk to my PC, used WiFi File Transfer Pro to upload it the Xoom, installed it and used it to play my Star Wars films (sad, I know) from the SD card in just under 3 minutes... all three of the original films (.avi) work a treat.

So +1 for RockPlayer from me too.

Just reject all of its attempts to get you to update to a new version when you start it up... the one in the link above works fine.
    Cheers, Hippo

actually, you dont ever need to click the rockplayer app, or otherwise start it up. just click the file you want to play

i now use QQplayer it plays more formats then the others searches for newly added movies in multiple folders and gives you the option to run full screen couldnt do that with mobo player and cuts down on time converting.

for movies i'd like to keep and run on anything i convert to 16:9 and .mp4 using dvd catalyst
