    Keyboard problem

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.
The problem I have is that the keyboard on my Xoom has just stopped working and now doesn't even appear. a message appears onscreen to say "Unfortunately Android keyboard has stopped".
Can anyone help me with this please.?

I've not had this problem, but I'd suggest:

A)Try switching input methods - see if another keyboard works (swift, swype, etc) and then switch back to the stock (if you want to).
B)Clear the cache - Not really sure about this one, but I've heard it suggested a few times - you never know, could work!

Just so we're not missing the obvious here, you don't have another keyboard/input device connected, do you? I know that if I forget to switch off my bluetooth keyboard, my Xoom 2 won't play nice with the on-screen keyboard at all.

First try rebooting by holding down the power and the volume up button until it restarts.

If that doesn't help, try going to "Settings" and then "Apps", then swipe across to "ALL".

Select "Android Keyboard" then clear the data and the cache.

I've tried what you suggested but it seems the problem has now worsened. It now says "the process com.google.process gapps has stopped" as well as "the android keyboard has stopped".
    ANY IDEAS.?

Maybe it's something you installed that is trying to work with the keyboard? Maybe a factory reset?

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Go to menu>settings>apps>all>find the keyboard app and all the goole apps>clear the data and cache and reboot with the power and volume up. The process com.google.process gapps has stopped is one or all of your gapps, don't know which one.
