Transcoding for streaming video to Xoom using Ubuntu & ffmpeg -- what ffmpeg options

I would like to use ffmpeg on my Ubuntu system to transcode DVDs, so that I can stream the resulting videos to my Xoom. I don''t want to copy the resulting videos to the Xoom -- I want to be able to watch the videos by streaming them over my LAN or even over the internet. Does anyone have a specific set of ffmpeg options that will create a video file that is reasonable quality that can be streamed?

Or, to ask it another way -- what is a good set of video/audio characteristics for a video file to have for streaming to the Xoom?

    What frame rate?
    What resolution?
    What audio and video encoding?
    Etc.

    Thanks!

    framerate would be 30fps
    screensize 1280 x 752 (xoom is 1280 x 800 but navigation bar on bottom)
    video quality 1500 kbps
sound quality 128 kbps is fine
    run stereo audio
    ratio 1.78:1 or (16:9)
format h264 or mp4 for native player

make it all this and the movie will play great on your xoom if you change things up you'll either get a stretched looking video or huge black borders.
