Download stills/movies from Toshiba camera to Xoom

I want to download movies/stills from my Toshiba Camileo camera to the Xoom so that I can post them on facebook. The Toshiba has a mini USB socket and the Xoom comes with a mini USB to USB cable. Can I obtain a mini USB to mini USB cable to connect the Toshiba to tge Xoom for this purpose? Or am I expecting the Xoom to do somethibg it wasn't designed for? My Xoom is WiFi on version 3. Any advice appreciated.

You'll need the Motorola Camera Connection Kit, you can get cheaper ones(OTG Cables) on ebay but wouldn't guarantee they'll work for you. You can also do it for free by transferring via usb from your PC.

I tried three OTG cables, none worked.... before I read the post telling me that I needed to be rooted for USB drives to work, now all three work! Doh.

Thanks for your reply. Another reply mentioned the need to be rooted, but you didn't say so. With the proper Camera connection kit, do I need to be rooted? Not sure what 'rooting' is all about!

You only need to be rooted to connect to thumb drives and Hard Drives.
