There is currently no movie download service like iTunes (or Netflix) available for the Xoom. You basically have to convert your own movies and store them on your device.

Well, the movie industry still believes that Digital Copies for Apple devices and Windows Mobile/Zune is the way to go, rather than actually looking at different markets like Android, so that would still be a while I guess.

Netflix is working on a Streaming client for its Instant-service, but no release schedule on that yet.

If you are into older movies and TV shows, you can always visit Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine for some free out-of-copyright streaming content (just tap the MP4 links)

Also try crackle.com. No new movies but there are some good old ones. Id love aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (keyboard poltergeist) service like itunes /netflix where I can just stream or download unlimited NEW movies for a monthly fee. I would pay 30 bucks for that!

Have a look there. Who knows what Google intends? Google Music has been rumored so that in combination with this could be several steps in the right direction. I prefer to be optimistic anyhow.
