Go to download a video player called Moboplayer from the Market. It can play almost every kinds of video files, such as AVI, rmvb etc. This is one of the best video player out there. It can also run some mkv files (480P should be good). Don't even think about 720P or 1080P, they are NOT going to run well on xoom. For transferring your files to your xoom, just simply use a USB cable to connect your xoom with your computer. It is really fast and easy to transfer your files from your computer to your tablet. BTW, other video players like mVideoplayer and Rockplayer are good as well. Try them.

Yep, if you want to play 720p or 1080p vids convert them over to mp4 first instead of playing the mkv.

    MoboPlayer

Use Moboplayer and it works well, but hate that i have to run all my MKV through DVD Catalyst.. Bought it and updated it today, but still thinks it`s slow.. Hoping VLC comes soon.. We really need a allround player for the Xoom..

Otherwise the Xoom playes very well and i use it every day and learn tips and tricks from all those nifty guys here on the forum.

Moboplayer works well for me but I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a folder view. Makes it hard to organize videos when it strips all of that away. Having said that I haven't found anything that I could throw at it that didn't work. My player of choice though is Rockplayer light. It also works well and has the folder view I prefer.

Moboplayer, Rockplayer Light, heard about QQplayer but haven't tried it. PlayOn for streaming Netflix/Hulu, DolphinHD for other internet video including Amazon Prime and HBO Go, Plex for streaming video files directly.
I have a brief summary and links to relevant apps up here
