I have about 50 AVI movies on one of my external hard drives, I just copy them to a folder and use Mobo Player and they work flawlessly. Don't have to convert or anything.

The problem is that I don't have the time or patience to rip DVDs, convert them and then transfer them. That is why I'm so interested in being able to rent movies from the market on my Wifi Xoom.

    oh really............will try that.
first few tries i had, couldnt get English as the language.

ok so just rip dvd, choosing the correct language and then transfer file direct to the xoom/sd card....will do that once the sd card slot is made available by the 3.1 update otherwise memory will be shot, have lots of Wav -uncompressed music in there. in hong kong and no signs of update

    many thx

I do the same thing. Saves space and they stay fresh.
