Yea everyone is making a tablet indeed. Actually doing my professional project on a related matter so doing some research on this but I mean there are like 10+ companies now making tablet. Just look up tablets on Walmart and you will see, lol. the Nook isn't bad for the price but it really depends what you want to use it for, I would consider that more or a reader that has some additional functions than a full blown tablet like the Xoom or Galaxy.

How old is she if you don't mind me asking? Yes the first question I always ask anyone who ask me for my opinion on what gadgets to buy is what is the intended purpose. I think it is crucial to look match the user to the machine. Like I might buy my 6 year old nephew one for Christmas cause he loves to play angry birds and ninja jump and stuff like that. I wouldn't spend $500+ on that or even worry about getting one with broadband connection. Was looking at one for $100 on Walmart instead lol. So it might be a good fit for her.
