This is a discussion on Ipad 3 within the Motorola Xoom vs. Others forums, part of the Motorola Xoom Forum category; Originally Posted by kris It was on the news that iPad 3 is mounting complaints .. including the battery running too hot and dying too ...
I have to say that I have heard so much about the ipad...doesn't matter if its 1,2,or 3, and part of me wants one. They are TOO expensive..starting at $499 for a 16GB is ridiculous! I have the xoom and it was purchased for $199 on black friday, I got it for Christmas. Best deal I gotta say. An ipad was discussed but the xoom can do so much more. The apps are holding me back though, I want my itunes and tv shows on my xoom and I want my music too but I have to jump through hoops to make that happen.
I have an ipod, and I love it, but haven't used it as much to watch tv shows bc Im spoiled by the bigger screens.
The price for the ipad is a turn off.
I also heard that the new ipad 3 gets way to hot to hold after its been on for awhile, wouldn't this be a turn off? Is this being fixed?
I paid 600$ for a 32gb XYBoard. So........ its not that bad but remember android is better along with moto

I got an iPad 3 a couple of weeks ago. I am keeping my Xoom, there are just too many things it does and I can do with it that I ain't losing the old girl...and I love to be able to tinker with it, and customize it to be MINE!
The iPad is nice, I got the 32gb Verizon LTE and it's pretty slick. I needed to (and wanted to) be able to do some things with it that I am just tired of finding and applying "work arounds" on the Xoom. I want to be able to watch MLB.TV easily and all the time without having to monkey with it or use a different browser...I wanted to watch HULU without having to screw around and find a way to make it work. I travel a LOT and ease of use is important to me. I've got tons of movies on the Xoom and will use it in the room to plug in to the hotel TV and save having to buy an adapter for the iPad...I'm keeping 4G service on both, just because...
Our company is switching to iPhone from Blackberry, so it kinda made sense to grab the pad to go with it...worth the money? Depends on who you are and what you want. I'm hating having to drag everything thru iTunes, but there are some programs that help get around that and I'm testing some of them.
I kinda like it and it's funny, I find myself splitting my time about equally between the two. I even had the Xoom plugged in to the TV the other night in my room and was doing some stuff on the iPad at the same time the movie was playing...now that's sweeeet!

Alcohol may not solve your problems, but neither will milk and cookies!

Has the ICS update been released yet for the xoom? I believe that my tablet still has the step down (forget the name).
So how does one get the itunes tv shows that they have already bought and the songs that they have already bought onto their xoom? The reason I'd want an ipad period is to watch my tv shows besides on my computer. I'd put them on my tv via HDMI but I don't have them on my xoom and therefore cannot put them on the tv...yet.
Anyone have any advice????
