I mean - surrrr I could have mastered it in time - but I'm not one to buy a new toy - and have to spend hours reading manuals. I'm welded into PLUG AND PLAY and USER FRIENDLY. What the hell ever happened to those days???? Long...long gone like the left lane still being a passing ONLY lane: GONE! Android is only for people who are willing to spend the time learning it - BECAUSE they spent the money on it. iPad is turn on - click click click - and your smile couldn't get larger. Like I said: Now that I've spent way too much time learning the XOOM - I too like it. It'll just never be as good as an iPad.
Congratulations on developing a stylus. We can all see your pride over it. I became proficient using Android in minutes back with the G1. One of my employees bought one. I was using an iPhone at the time, and when I saw how easy and capable it was I decided Android was for me. I completely understood Honeycomb after seeing the CTIA videos on Youtube. Yes, just seeing someone else use the basic nav elements was enough. They're both user friendly to me but I know that's relative.
For the record, I can't say I've "mastered" Android because that has a very different meaning here than in the iOS world. With Android, to say you've mastered it means you write new, hybrid ROM files that bring new features to devices. With iOS, to say you've mastered it means you can listen to iTunes music and send a picture to Meemaw at the same time.

I'm having a problem with my XOOM of it turning on by itself and I'm hoping you might have the answer. As to what is running (which is never actually know) I have the wifi on; the blue tooth on; and I push the button on the read by the camera lenses to turn it off. What am I doing wrong? The email is also acquiring every unknown minutes but would that turn it on?

I have not had a problem with my Xoom turning itself 'on' for no reason. I also haven't seen any Android device sporadically turn on by itself for no reason. As for finding what is running on the Xoom, you can use Advanced Task Killer, or Taskiller, or just simply going into Settings -> Manage Applications -> Running to determine that.
I use the button next to the camera lense to turn it off, cause... IT is the power button. I also just let it idle out and power down as well.
I have email going to it and it doesn't flip it on either. Without knowing what other applications you have installed, we can't tell you, because it varies from user to user and how they set it up. Since you haven't given us much information short of you turning the screen off using the power button and having your mail set up to get mail, which most of us do that, that doesn't narrow down the realm of possibilities nor could we, who don't have the problem or problems figuring out our own xooms could tell you.
You could try and do the obvious troubleshooting as well, try factory resetting it to the base level and change things one at a time, wait a period to see if anything noticeable happens, then add again.

Keiichi25 is right. Is your unit 3G or WiFi? When it turns on, is it doing so to a specific app or message?

I dont know how you can compare ipad and xoom GPS.
iPad does not have a GPS.

I believe you are correct: The iPad doesn't have a STAND ALONE GPS. I just Googled the question and the confusion stems from the absolute fact - the iPad DOES HAVE an "assisted GPS". This is a combination of cell tower triangulation and who knows what else. Where as - the XOOM has a 100% STAND ALONE - GPS. Thanks for clarifying that.

Is that not cool or what - seeing the jet in the lower right (flight mode) corner - and knowing literally nothing is connected to the device - yet you're right on the every map street you go down. And obviously - this has to be using far less battery where the unit isn't connecting to cell towers. This then makes the XOOM the largest - stand alone GPS currently in use. Unless someone can tell of a larger one.

I've always taught my wife and son - unless you give the one you're talking to - 100% of the 'Input" (you're aware of) the person isn't going to be able to give you the correct answer - so you are right. I haven't given you any information to go on. The problem is however - not being knowledgeable on Android or Honey bees - I can't paint a clear picture. I will say that I have the app called Advance Task - which I find pretty much useless. Oh it kills everything running - but you reopen the Advanced Task directly after you killed everything - and 25 to 45% of the same apps - are either still running - or started again by themselves. That's interesting.
One of the apps I have running - is SKYPE - which DOES receive CHAT (text) messages so I think it is this app that is causing it to restart. I need to find a setting that shuts it off within a short time if I haven't slid the clock over.
