What? No. I have a micro HDMI to full size HDMI cable connected to my TV. No dongles or adapters. $7 from Amazon.com. I use it all the time. Its the proprietary dongle that rubs people the wrong way.
Not that its a big deal or anything...but I'm just sayin'

Yeah its the proprietary nature of Sammy's solution that bothers me. Yes I also need a specific cable (micro to full) to connect my Xoom, but I can get those virtually anywhere, unlike Samsung's 30 pin. I like Samsung, but I think that was a bad move, probably brought on by their apparent obsession with seeing and raising everything Cupertino does....

1. The samsung tab 10 DOES have a LED flash for the 3mp camera on the back. Proof this guy has never used the Tab 10.
2. Yes the Tab 10 does have usb mass storage. If it didnt you wouldnt be able to transfer file to and from PC or Mac with USB.
3. The samsung tab 10 has ALL the same ports as the xoom other than micro SD card (which does not work on the xoom). Either way BOTH tablets need a dongle or adapter to use ANY port option. You need a proprietary dongle for the Tab 10 for HDMI, USB hosting. You also need adapters or completely new cables to use the micro HDMI and micro USB ports on the xoom as micro HDMI and micro USB are not the standard to connect to devices using those ports so its a completely irrelevant argument. BOTH tablets need adapters/dongles to use the the HDMI and USB ports.
1. In the video she said it had flash. But the Motorola has dual flash with a 5 mp camera compared to Samsung's single flash and 3.2mp camera.
2. What she was trying to say is you will have to install Samsung's proprietary software to transfer files. The xoom is more plug and play and show up as a drive as soon as you connect it to your computer.
3. The micro sd update is being applied to Xooms outside of the US. Hopefully the US will also get an update soon from Google. Secondly, micro usb and micro hdmi are standards and many people will already have those cables lying around the house. Micro USB and Micro HDMI are also interchangeable with other devices. The proprietary Samsung cable will only work with the Galaxy tab and nothing else.

Xoom= Industry standard ports. Same micro HDMI and micro USB as all my other devices. Cables handy.
Galaxy= Retarded proprietary port that will require $20-$30 adapters to provide the some connectivity. Not handy. Due to proprietary connection, usually difficult to find deals via 3rd party manf.
Xoom=win
Galaxy=fail

They may be talking about Kies for the Mac.

Some reviewers get there facts wrong... that happens too.
Enjoy your purchase and share your love for it over at the galaxy forum, we wish you well.

And FF has a lovely forum dedicated to the Galaxy Tab family of products.

You are so wrong on several counts. Not worth further debating with you.

The difference is that the proprietary connector is expensive compared to the industry standard xoom cables that you can pick up for next to nothing. That is the reality despite what you think. So for a HDMI and a USB connection kit you need to pay an extra $60!

If the 30 pin charges then it is a definite plus over the Xoom's.
