I am personally offended by Apple

I am personaly offended by Apple. They contend by their lawsuits that the average user buys tablets based on the look of the tablet and not by their substance. That means they assume that I and all of the rest of the consumers in the world buy anything that shows up on the shelves assuming it's an Apple product. While it is true that Apple buyers always make their purchases based on a label and not an intelligent comparison of products, that is not true of myself and all other buyers of alternate products. For the courts and Apple to insinuate that I bought my Xoom by accident is personally offensive and I have forwarded an email to both Apple and the ITC stating such. I would encourage all intelligent consumers to do the same.

I don't know where I stand on this. On one hand I support protecting your investments. On the other hand there is no way you are walking into a store and getting duped out of buying an ipad. Apple is not an obscure company that people could mistake for another. Then there is the whole issue where tablets have been around forever so how can some of these patents have been approved long after Wacom has been pumping out touch screen products? If patent protection is going to remain in the current state then it needs to be implemented before a final product run.

I think Apple had gone beyond defense of their legitimate intellectual property right and is using the law to try to stifle competition. Sad really, they make compelling products, have a great marketing team and a fanatically loyal customer base. They would be successful in the market without resorting to dirty tricks. But apparently they feel success without total domination isn't enough.

Apple's politics do offend me but I will NOT go back to F'ing Windows, Linux may be good for servers but... I love my new iMac i5 and my Xoom, they work together nicely.

Well I got duped into buying a iPad 2 for my wife only to find out it's really just a big iPhone. I mean, really, you *have* to plug the thing into a computer to set it up? My Xoom's a true computer, not just a large-format phone.
