I never charge and use my Xoom at the same time. I could see it being a pain though. I have the moto portfolio case and just leave it open when charging, be easy to pop a little hole there though. Its located where it is for docks.
Not sure if anyone has thought to look, but the iPad has it's port on the side they figure the tablet will be most used on, same with the Toshiba Thrive. It's kind of a crap shoot because you have to remember the ports re all based on how you would need to put the tablets, phones etc, into a dock. Otherwise, we'd have people complaining about having wires running all over the place to attach all the plugs to the dock and device.
Having the Droid1, I've heard the complaints about not having the ports where they can be plugged into a dock and the need for all sorts of cables to hook them into things. So they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.![]()

my issue is moreso with the actualmconnector then with itsplacement. i think that thye should have used a mini usb or something of thay nature, because the oplug that our xooms come with are less than desirable . they are too flimbsy, small andare too fradgile
