So is the Xoom considered one if the best Android Tabs avail?

I bought my Wifi Xoom when it first came out, totally on a impulse buy, and havent looked back.

I did have some buyers remorse after a couple of weeks due to the price I paid and what I was using it for (simple web surf, light emailing, some netflixing, google maps). Over it now and happy and satisfied with the purchase, the updates helped since the initial release was quite unpolished and if I where Motorola/Google, would have been a little embarrased with the initial product quality release.

Anyways, so Im noticing the marketplace for non-Apple tabs getting crowded. I have no interest in making another purchase anytime soon, but wondering how the Xoom stacks up with the comp?

It lags in some respects with regard to weight and screen quality. Alot of these things are personal prefs though. I think it is hands down the best. I did alot of research before buying and i couldn't be happier. I liken the xoom to the OG droid. I think it will have the longest lifespan of all current tabs.

All a matter of taste. Love my XOOM. My wife then wanted a tablet and refused to get what I got. No problem. So for whatever reason she chose the Galaxi 10.1. A very good macine for sure. But as always, there are pluses and minuses. Nicer display with better colors on Galaxy. A different flavor of Android on Galaxy (part good part not so good). Not built as sturdy as the XOOM for sure. I have come to realize they are both very good devices. But, as always, there is no clear cut BETTER device in my mind. We are both happy with our repective devices. JMHO.

Like the display on my wife's Galaxy better, but when I jump back on my xoom I completely forget about the difference. I also miss the lag of usb port, xoom feels like it's built better as well.

It's really a personal choice thing. I prefer the Xoom because of its build. Sure, the screen isn't as perky as other tabs, but it is just fine IMO. If the Transformer had a 3G radio I would travel with it instead. I like its screen and keyboard dock. The screen looks better, but touch functionality is better on the Xoom. The Galaxy Tab is cool too with its sleekness. It is however the least used tablet in our family.

The hardware on the present crop of Honeycomb tablets is so similar that it really comes down to personal preference.

We are still fighting the holy war at my house concerning iOS vs Android. Nothing wrong with a little bit of everything in the pot, but accessories start piling up for all if the different devices.
