Xoom WIFI 4.0.4 Update Doesn't Work

Hi I'm new to my Xoom WIFI & would like some opinions about the 4.0.4 update. I have received 4 notices on my Xoom that 4.0.4 was available for me to update. Each time I try it reboots, says it's going into recovery mode. Then I get the green android standing there & it looks like it's going ok. Then the android lays down with a triangle with an "!" in it. I finally contacted Motorola via chat mode & they told me 4.0.4 isn't available yet & could offer no info as to why the system is telling me that. They finally told me to call level 2 tech support. Does anyone here have any info that might help? I will try to call level 2 support, but have a feeling you guys may be of more help to me than them. I currently have ics 4.0.3 with kernel version 2.6.39.4-gf03a679 android-build@apa28#1. This is the WIFI version Xoom & I purchased it through motorola.com I have made no changes to my rom or anything else I have ready read about in here or anywhere else on the internet. Thanks in advance as you can tell by my user ID I am very OCD & this is driving me insane.

Press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the xoom starts to reboot, when the screen starts to change start tapping the volume down button until you see android recovery in the upper left of your screen, tap the volume up button to enter the android recovery. From there you can clear your cache partition.

Thank You :-) Is it possible for me to try the download again manually or will I have to wait on the system to say it's available before I can try it again? Also do you have any info on why motorola would say the update isn't available yet if it is? They did ask I'm part of the "soak test" & I said no. But I have read about this update from other places & it's my understaning I'm not the only person trying this update. I'm just so confussed & want it updated if it is available. Thanks again

should I wait until a later date then? Will it mess up my xoom if I try & it doesn't work? And I've tried using a flashdrive with the proper cable previously & it was like it wasn't there. But maybe that will change with an update...I tried to see if I could access movies I had put on the flashdrive.

You need the OTG cable, I'm using the Motorola Camera Connection Kit. I don't think attempting it again will hurt your Xoom, you may have to clear the cache partition again at the worst.
