Why wait for 3.1 just root to 3.1

Ok I got sick of waiting for the 3.1 update to be pushed my way so I was determined to root. It really is not as perilous as some make it out and the guides and there authors superb.

This one works great for most Xoom hackers but for some reason ADB would not boot into recovery for me so I used Clockwork Mod and a special recovery file that was sent to me.

This one is really simple since it uses Clockwork Mod and there is no typing involved and no ADB or USB connections necessary.

Note that this is only good for two types of Xooms:
- Wifi-Only from anywhere
- 3G Xooms from the US

I've tried to explain this, but too many people seem concerned with voiding their warranty. Although, I'm not sure that rooting would even void it anyways. Kind of like with modifying a car with a warranty, if you change suspension components for new aftermarket pieces, but then the transmission fails, you still have your warranty intact. They can't deny repairing a screen defect just because you are rooted.

Check out the waranty and you'll see eleven ways to avoid honoring the warranty agreement, including software damage caused by loading any software. So as soon as you download an app from the market you've given moto an out. IMO you might as well relax and enjoy your rooted Xoom.
