Super Slow Browser After ICS
I received the ICS update a few days ago (I think Wednesday).
It is a completely stock WiFi Xoom with a 16GB SD card.
The Browser is so slow now that it is almost worthless.
Nothing has changed on my wireless network and all the other devices are functioning fine.
Some sites that used to load in a few seconds will not load at all now. The blue bar will go VERY slowly to about 80% then nothing.
These are not especially high graphic content sites and are site I visited without issue prior to the upgrade.
I have updated to the latest Flash and did a 'soft boot' but it has made no difference.
I tried to look through all the ICS threads so as not to post unnecessarily but didn't see anything.
I thought of contacting the Motorola Chat but thought I would check with folks who really knew the Xoom first.
Thanks
FJ

did you try force reboot? with volume + and power button?
theres also factory reset i know thats not what you wanna hear though but it might just be what it needs.

Before going that extreme, try clearing the cache; if it's still having trouble then clear app data. After that, then you can look at the more extreme solutions.

Well after clearing the cache and the app's data the only difference is that now I now longer have any of my bookmarks and of course it doesn't remember any of the sites I visited I have to type in the complete URL.
Oh, well.

Have you tried running a speed test? Maybe give that a shot and see if it reports back with any success... The problem could be from a variety of things I would suppose. I have encountered this a couple times actually, but it usually stops after a minute or two and the browser picks back up. I have never had it persist for long. Also, is it just the browser that is having connection issues? Is YouTube streaming fine? Market? If so, maybe try a different browser and see what happens. If it is related to stock browser, you might want to do a factory reset, but I don't know if that would really fix anything... U

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
As I mentioned I did the forced (soft) boot several times. Also cleared the browser's cache and app data to no avail.
I had a 'chat' with Level 1 support yesterday. I explained all that I had done thus far. He suggested that I try a forced boot and clear the browser's cache and app data! I sure wish those folks would at least read what you send BEFORE they respond.
He then said I should do a reset. I told him I did not find that acceptable at this point.
He gave me a case number and a phone number to contact Level 2 support, which I haven't had time to pursue yet.
rproctor;
I haven't used FaceBook before so I can't say if there is any difference.
What sort of 'speed' tests are you referring to? Is there a function on the Xoom itself that does this?
I can run a sped test on my Hughes.Net from a PC but I doubt if the Xoom would run it as it is Jave based. Also, like it is now the Xoom won't load any web pages anyway.
The 'Market' has been real slow for me since the second update before ICS but I rarely use it so I wasn't concerned.
The OliveTree Bible app that I use as well as the Kindle app and others work fine.
Like you I doubt if the reset would really cure the issue and like I told the Level 1 support tech that a pretty severe 'might help' step to take. 'might help'
Again, thanks to all.

ICS is melting
Dude, this just happend to me yesterday I updated my wife's Xoom to the ICS and all the sudden the internet now its very slow. Using the same browser and opening the Google page it used to open in a couple of seconds now it takes almost 2 min and this is just ridicules!!!. I tried clearing the data cache, history, reboots and still nothing. I really dont want to do a clean state reboot. Do any oy you know how to unistall the latest ICS update or a solution for this issue. Nothing has change except I made an update to ICS.
Fast Jimmy, please let me know what the Level 2 guy tells you because I am in the same boat. ICS is melting on my hands and I dont know what to do.
