Using Quickboot, i went to main recovery menu
    Wipe cache partition
    advanced>> Wipe Dalvik
    Wipe Data/ factory reset
Install zip from SD card >> Choose zip file >> selected the zip file from the link you sent
    Reboot

But nothing has changed, i still get Android version 3.2.2 when i go to About tablet and check Android Version. Any idea what i am doing wrong?

    Thanks
When your Xoom rebooted did you have to sign back into google? I'd redo the wipes, sometimes I wipe data/ factory reset 2 or 3 times, reflash the rom and gapps. You did everything exactly the way you should have.

    I think i made a mistake.

I am assuming that Install zip from SD card is the same as flashing the rom?

Ok i only installed gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip (49 MB file)

    Should i also install EOS-wingray-102.zip (96.5 MB)?

Right, you need the rom and the gapps. Don't reboot between the rom and gapps.

OK i am downloading the rom file now, but it is quite slow (think lot of people are downloading) will give you the feedback on this shortly. Thanks for taking the time and raising my awareness on this ten-fold. Appreciate it very much. You are a good man.

It works very well! First and foremost, i would like to thank Grant for his patient and thorough help in this. I would like to detail the steps i did :

Using Quickboot, i went to main recovery menu
Go to the Android Recovery menu, select Backup and Restore and created a back-up on my SD Card.
Installed Titanium back-up for backing up Apps (again, thanks grant! read your recommendation on this in another thread when i was browsing)
    Wipe cache partition
    advanced>> Wipe Dalvik
    Wipe Data/ factory reset
Install zip from SD card >> Choose zip file >> selected the zip file
First install is the wingray zip file (96.5 MB)
Second install is the GAPPS package zip file (49.6 MB)
    Reboot
    Enjoy

One of the first things that blew me away with this upgrade was my wifi issue was resolved! I have attached the thread i started for reference few months back.
Xoom Tablet - Wifi is not working, help!

Each time i had to manually enter it as a Static IP and keep entering the IP address/ gateway/ Network etc. Was a major pain, in some case, i had to configure and update the router firmware!

After this upgrade, it just catches the wifi like my Samsung Galaxy note phone does. very very well done. I am still trying to get over this, as i have not looked at the other features yet.
Will keep posting on the update periodically on this thread.

again, Thanks Grant. It is very nice of you to help and advise me.

If there is anything else i need to do in terms of, please let me know

Been checking the system, some strange things have popped up. Need your advise on

    1. In honeycomb, when i long press the homescreen, i can get the widgets application grid to come and can choose the widgets, But this is not happening in this ICS version, Is this an issue with the custom ROM

    2. My google play store is messed up. I cannot access any of my paid apps at all and when i search for apps in google play, i get only free apps in the search results, i do not see any paid apps search results at all. The issue is that because of this, this is seeping into my galaxy note phone as well from the xoom. I checked the settings and could not find anything that could help.
