Rooted upon purchase from Best Buy?

I purchased my Xoom last night from a local Best Buy and. Let the clerk talk me into a discounted open box one. After booting once I got it home I saw it had the superuser icon in the apps folder. I am guessing these do not normally ship with root access open so I am wondering if the Best Buy store may have done this to restore the tablet to factory but failed to lock it once done or if it was returned by someone who had rooted it and then returned it without the store catching it. Anyone else encountered this situation?

Hmmmmm who roots a healthy device and then returns it? Sounds sketchy to me. There is likely something wrong with it.

Unless you got a tremendous deal I would consider returning it if you are 100% confident that Best Buy will believe that you are the innocent party here.

I agree take it back. That's too big of a risk.

Super user is not automatically removed even after a factory reset. It's obvious they did a factory reset and thought it was as good as new.
Like everyone stated above, I'd return it if I were you, just to be safe and avoid any future headaches...

I took it back this morning and they did exchange it for me. I told them that it was rooted upon receipt and they accepted that without any push back.
