Network connections are unstable !

Just got my xoom wifi and 3g few days ago with android 3.0.1

Network connections whether wifi or 3g are totally unstable, connections interrupted during browsing on app. martek, youtube and the browser.

It happens at random times, sometimes it works fine, usually interruption happens.

Really it drove me crazy, i tried restore factory settings, turned it off and on, and the problem still exists.

Is it a software problem with android, or a problem with both wifi and 3g antennas.

ANY HELP PLEASE?

3.0.1 is the latest android for motorola xoom 3g version
i checked and the device told me that i am up to date

I've had 3.1 update on my 3g xoom for over a month.

Guess that explains it. Kind of sucks because 3.1 made my unit much netter.

seawhale, first, please do not cross post in the forums. Google also does not head up the updates and or issues overseas, so you should direct your complaints squarely at Motorola.

I would suggest maybe looking into a signal strength app of some sort. Since you are overseas, and I'm not sure what you can download from the App Market, I'm not sure if you can see the apps I'm seeing. But there are plenty of free apps that can test both your wifi and 3G signal to see if you are getting interference or dropping out of the signals. I would check that first prior to doing anything else since the software is up to date for your region.

how can i get 3.1 update?

I checked it through my xoom under, setting - about tablet - system updates, and it gave me the following message: your device is up to date, no update is necessary at this time.
