Well I rooted using the one step xyz program and it worked great. I followed up with installing Superuser Elite, Root Explorer, and a couple other root apps. Before I made any changes I wanted to try out the two step uninstall mentioned above. Anyway I couldn't delete the superuser.apk. I'm no longer rooted but the program is still there. All seems to work fine but I can't reinstall root as my laptop stops installing after it starts daemon. Daemon starts successfully but never does any more. Any thoughts how to make it reinstall?

Easiest is probally downloading a root app and seeing if it works or open a terminal and do #su

Even though I rooted less than a week ago, I unrooted yesterday as I realised that with ICS (hopefully) imminent, I'd need to be unrooted to accept it. (Plus, I was personally finding that there wasn't much need to be rooted anyway)

I used 'Voodoo OTA RootKeeper 2.0.3', which claims to unroot, whilst simultaneously making a backup of the rooted state should you wish to restore it after the OTA. Whether or not it works, I don't know - but it does claim (via unticked display boxes) that I'm neither rooted nor hold root permission. I guess we'll see when I finally get the prompt to update (...after changing my underwear, of course) and I try to do it.

EDIT: Just tried to open Titanium Backup, and it failed as it couldn't acquire root privileges - so I assume that it's worked.

I'm trying this unroot method and I am not having much luck. I rooted my device using the xyz method. I would like to unroot it and I was wondering if someone could post some in depth instructions. I tried deleting those files and it is telling me that I do not have the permissions to do so.

    Thanks,
    Nick
