    Hi and power issue

    Hi folks... bought one today from currys/pcworld/black got it at a good price with a bit of haggling and such.

    I seem to have a recurring instant power off / reboot issue. seems to happen when using net atm. connected via wireless hotspot on my android phone.
    Did the two updates which took it from 3.1 to 3.2, same issue. No regularity. It is ex demo so I probably got a bad egg still its covered and insured so.. wondering if anyone had similar and what could solve it or return.

    Hoping to either get ICS (us version) or wait for M to crank up the thing, unsure if this might solve it... obviously could be software or hardware fail.

    Welcome. Have you tried a factory reset? That's essentially all you can do unless you're willing to root it?

    Sort of... being ex demo they had to wipe it before they gave it to me. they had to get clearance I think from either head tech or maybe even M before they could let it go.

    Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Try a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both. This will fix some issues after an update.

    @rayhodge it was a shop display model but is in mint condition with full warranty. it seems fully intact and functional except for these cut off reboots

    @ggrant I'll try that. Before I do, I know it should have a factory reset in the menu but what is the factory reset sequence for this ? I just want to make sure I know and don't do it by accident. (saves redoing everythign I have done so far lol)

    Factory reset is in menu>settings>privacy>factory data reset.

    Starting RSD protocol support 0
    Onewire: Charger is not connected or battery is not being charged...
    Battery charge level: 100%

    It has frozen here. Tried holding power button, nothing. Just stuck.

    Press and hold volume up and power again. Should reboot it.

    Yea, it has rebooted. I'm guessing the soft reboot failed to fully happen and wonder should I try again ?

    I noticed earlier, it did struggle to turn on once. This was during a normal finished using it, oh lets turn it back on again situation.
