from galaxy tab to xoom user

i gotta xoom and like it very much vs my galaxy tab
bit of a learning curve but its well worth it
but how do u remove the windows the apps sit on?
there are five and i would prefer four

You mean the number of screens?

You need to use a custom launcher. I had been using adw ex for a long time but recently switched to Apex.

Apex is very nice although I believe all of them give you the option to change the number of screens.

I use ADX Ex also and just have 1 screen.

No you don't need root for Apex.

You don't need root for Apex, but it will ask for root permissions to do something, and I can't remember what.
