Have you made sure your flash player is up to date or even installed?

I don't think that's it; I've watched live video on mine!
Which websites are you using? What are the symptoms of being unable to watch the video?
E.g. do you get an error message, does the tablet freeze, etc? Little more info might help people to answer

To install flash just go to Google play and search for it. Install it and that's all you have to do for it. If that's how the website is streaming it than you will be in good shape, otherwise see if the website has any apps and if that doesn't work find a new site unfortunately

Turn either data or wifi on and go to the play store, you'll either have an update or need to install it.

I bet
those websites use silverlight... that's a no go on any tablet (okay, Win8 may get silverlight support....).

One example site is http://live.ru/en
1. Select any of the links to view some sports event.
2. Wait a few seconds for all of the ads to close.
3. These are using Flash and appear OK UNTIL...
4. Plug the Xoom into the HDMI for your TV
5. Select to view in Full Screen
The result varies from being able to watch on the Xoom but not the TV, freezing the browser, blacking out the video on the Xoom, etc etc.
You may have to try a few of the links to find one that doesn't need a login or seperate 'player' [on a PC] to run, or one where the ads don't get stuck.
I cancelled all of my satellite/cable tv services and can get everything I need from my smart TV EXCEPT for live sports. So the live sports have to be viewed via some sort of stream. All of the live streams which don't require their own 'player' [players usually only for PC, not for mobile devices] use Flash through the browser.
I discovered this fun way to watch live sports when DirecTV blacked out the National Broadcast of my home-town hockey team's playoff games in lieu of their being available on CSN [Comcast Sports Network] -- a channel DirecTV doesn't offer [and I refuse to deal with Comcast again]. Having discovered with some slight prep time to find a working English-based feed I could watch all of the games without buying Comcast, I then asked myself what the heck I needed DirecTV for. my Sony TV offering Youtube, Hulu, Netflix,Amazon [Supported Amazon Player], NHL Games and a bunch of Sony Movie Channels and now I discovered how to watch Live Sports [that technically I couldn't watch on DirecTV despite expensive subscriptions to Center Ice] I cancelled DirecTV and have been free of subscripton based programming, save the small monthly netflix/hulu fees. [My Sony TV even has an NHL channel to watch hundreds of old games]. So you can imagine my dismay when suddenly towards the end of playoffs, my trust Xoom, receiving the ICS update suddenly refused to play any Flash-Based Live Streams when plugged into my HDTV, I was quite upset.
The issue apparently [as I can best understand it] is that in order to quickly get a working version of Flash for ICS, Adobe took a shortcut and ran flash in a universal way that doesn't utilize the hardware on the xoom. They basically render the video images using software which -- when attempting to display on a large output like an HDTV -- overloads the CPU and essentially eats up all available resources [hence the somewhat random behavior, none of which results in a usable image to the TV].
The Xoom displays non-flash based images on the TV with no problem so it isn't the HDMI connection. Sometime I can get REALLY poor quality video to show if I zoom the browser in, without using the full screen on the TV, but now always. Sometimes just expanding to full screen causes the issues without the TV. Then add in the other rendering issues with the choppy video, sound etc etc and what you have is essentially a useless Flash player.
Hence my question below somewhere... What is the best ROM of HoneyComb to use if I want to have real [hardware acceleration] Adobe Flash on my Xoom, or is there an ICS/JB ROM that has a working version of Flash that utilizes hardware acceleration [or will display live streaming video on my TV via HDMI?]
And if I need an old HoneyComb ROM, are there still issues with a 4G upgraded US Xoom that I need to be aware of?
