Hello! I'm buying the Xoom tomorrow.

I'm very excited to be purchasing this device, i currently have a cheap droid from cricket wireless running a custom rom of 2.1
I'm going to be using that device as a mobile hot spot for my Motorola Xoom, i want to use the xoom for tasks such as notes, gaming, HD video, video calls, etc etc.
I also want to be able to use it for high end tasks. And also was curious if this device is hackable or able to produce programs in that category.

I want to go further into programming and mobile device technology in college. I feel like this is the right device to start me off.
