    GEDify vs changing xoom region

hello everyone. so i just got a xoom mz604 off a coworker and im looking to get the most out of it so thats why im here.i have just a few questions about it. i was tryin to use the sim slot but nothing seems to happen how do you enable the sim slot? i read that it actually doesnt work but im unsure. i bought the tablet here in kuwait the region says asia pacific,i wanted to go ics but no update available yet so that brings me to my next question as to preference to get the update?i read gedify was one way aswell as changing my region and lastly rooting.not really looking into rooting so much as the other 2 options.any help is much appreciated

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Gedifying is basically the same as changing the region. If you have a 3G/4G Xoom you will have to go the root method as you can only gedify the WiFi Xoom.

The 3G/4G Xoom will be branded with Verizon on the upper right of the bezel.

You've said it's an MZ604... thus it is WiFi only (Wingray)!
