My xoom does not see the 32gb micro sdhc memory card I installed

I bought a San Disk 32gb micro sdhc memory card and installed it in the top slot, but the xoom does not "see" it. I am running ICS version 4.0.3 so it should be updated enough to enable the memory slot. I have tried several times to turn the xoom off, let it sit for a couple of minutes and do a restart to no avail. I currently do not have a computer with a memory card reader, so how do I format the disc so the xoom will "see" it? Can I do it from the xoom or do I have to buy a usb card adapter to use my old imac (2004) to accomplish this? Please help, thank you.

Got to setting menu under storage. Format it; or
If you have Andrpid phone use it to format.

Thanks for this link! I usually just use WIndows but this looks like a better option.

It won't help the OP though since it was stated that he/she does not have a computer with a card reader.

When I got my first 32Gb card, formatting with windows it wouldn't recognize it. Another member of the forum suggested this and I've been using it since.

Thanks for the input, unfortunately my Xoom won't even show it has a sdhc card in the slot. Maybe the device is defective or does not have a functioning card reader slot, thats what can happen you buy used, nothing is guaranteed. When I buy my new computer next month I will try to format the disc and give it another try.
