Unless you are using static IP's, the IP addresses are going to be dynamically assigned by your router, so the address should NOT BE the same as the other tablet. For example, the other tablet may have been 192.168.1.108 and the new tablet might be 192.168.1.110 (note that on Belkin, the third grouping might be a 0 instead of a 1, or vice verse.)

Let us know if a friends wi-fi produces different results.

ok, every device in a network MUST have a different ip address. In most cases it will be 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x with each device getting a different number for x. If they all had the same ip then the router wouldn't know wwhich device asked for a page etc. The router will assign the number and if you then make the change i suggested it will stay with that number making the connection a little faster initially when you turn it on. Not necessary but might help a little. Your other issues sound more like the router needs to be updated to the latest version. The book for the router should tell you how but make sure you do it from a pc connected to the router with a cable instead of wifi. It might work via wifi but you might also lose the router that way too.

yes i hope so too, i'm not hopeful though, my Onda tab works great with my router, i'll give the xoom a go with the new router but i'm not a fan i must say, i think i can see why they launched the xoom 2 very quickly, ive been on the forums and there are lots of poeple having trouble with the xoom after it updated to ICS, an update sent by motorola by the way, which was intended to keep the xoom at the cutting edge well infact as put many of them in the bin

Well, until you've established that your Xoom runs well or not on that friends router or not (we're waiting), please hold down the negativity. It isn't constructive nor helpful for those of us trying to HELP you. Agreed?

    Cheers.

Apart from anything it is very rude to all those good people trying to help you to use your device properly.

Since the OP never returned (checked last activity date,) Chrisonline was probably right all along.
