    Father of the happy owner

I bought my youngest son a used Xoom, with hard keyboard, for his birthday. The DSL/router was dying as he was trying to use it. He and his brother spent a fair amount of time at McDonald's for the next couple of days until I got the internet working at home. He loves his Xoom now. The school instituted a BYOD policy this year, which is partly why I bought one with the keyboard. He has had experience with an ipad last year, but the school's policies, relative to IT seem to have been in a continual state of flux for some time. We decided to get him a Xoom based on the cost of the used unit, and what I perceive, from some research, that the hardware is quite good quality. We are still in the early stages, but it looks good so far.

Welcome to the forum. I'm still using my Xoom and it's almost 2 1/2 years old now.

Same here. I bought mine on launch day 2/24/11 and it runs like the day I booted it for the first time. Solidly built.

Great product! Although it's getting a little long in the tooth, I really love my Xoom and have no seriously compelling reason to move on to one of the newer offerings at this time.

I agree the Xoom is a keeper. I haven't upgraded because of two reasons. One, the speakers on my Xoom are great for listening to music and most of the newer offerings offer smaller speakers these days. Two, I really plan to move to a Windows based tab and there is nothing out there I like that I can afford. Roll on Xoom!
