    Email Setting

I had resetted my XOOM wifi and having problem setup my pop email account. It went smoothly in the setting until I entered the outgoing sever setting. The error message is 'Authentication met her is not allow by the server.

As I recalled, the same setting I had been using since 1995 and it work in iPhone, window phone, nokia, outlook, macbook's mail etc. I did approached motorola's customer service by phone and email but get the reply that its must be wrong setting, then keep on telling me to check with email supplier.

I knew the setting is correct as I tried it out again in a third party app downloaded from android market. It work well and I suspect there is some bugs in the xoom's os. That bugs must had caused xoom's build in email failed.

Anyone ever face the same problem? How you solved this problem? Dun ask me to check with Motorola again, they dun even acknowledge the problem.

I've had exactly the same thing. Searched for solutions for too long, now using MailDroid instead of stock email app. Would prefer not to do this... but it does at least work. Will keep an eye out here, just in case someone solves our problem!

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. I use the stock email and gmail app with no problems.

Hi, thanks for welcome. I use the stock email and gmail app on two other android devices. They work fine. However, on the XOOM no luck. All settings replicated.

Try going to settings/apps/manage apps/all/email client and wipe data. It will remove any account set up but should allow you to start anew.

I have an issue with outlook email trash. I get a notice my mailbox is full, I delete sent, but now I have to delete the trash one at a time. Is there a way to delete all the trash at once?
