New Xoom Owner - Battery Capacity Question

Hi everyone,

I purchased by Xoom about a week ago, running 3.1, and I am happy with it so far. Screen is good, battery life good, and it feels great to hold and I love the motorola porfolio case so I can make it stand upright. I managed to get it for $449 from Futureshop.

My friend is also looking for a tablet, and he is interested in Sony S, Galaxy Tab and the Xoom, and he is pretty much set on the Xoom, but does not know the true capacity of the battery and he is worried that 3250mA is not large enough comapred to Sony S of 5000mA and Tabs 7000mA.

I have looked around a lot, even at teardown websites looking at the battery and only seeing 3250mA mentioned.

I have also seen some websites showing 2x 3250mA..

Now, I am really confused...

Anyone have input? or perhaps the truth?

Also, given that it is a 3250mA battery, how can it last so well compared to Tab 7000mA battery?

Also, most usage times for tablets really only factor in a couple of things. The highest runtimes are for web browsing and the low end times are for video being looped over and over. Actual times will of course vary as I have yet to meet a battery that does what people claim it can do. I can say that I get great battery life on all of my tablets with the Transformer beating them all as it has the extra battery in the keyboard dock. Without the dock battery life from longest to shortest is: 1. HP Touchpad, 2. OG iPad, 3. Xoom, 4. Transformer, and 5. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Those are my usages though and I am not a casual user. The Xoom charges the fastest and is my primary device.

I get a day and a half to two days with average/moderate use. Mostly web browsing and occasional gaming. Whether you like or dislike the battery life, it is hard to deny how quickly it charges. In 30 minutes, you can get easily get enough to last you a couple hours of use.
