Quick confirmation sought - UK Xoom, BBC iPlayer app..

Am I correct in assuming, as I cannot see the app. in the Market, that the BBC iPlayer app. is not supported (does not work) on the Xoom and I must use the website instead? I think I'm correct, but anyone who can confirm that would have my appreciation.

If you have a UK Xoom, it should be there for you and does work fine.

I bought the Xoom from Carphone Warehouse in Sheffield last Tuesday. When I go to the Market there is no BBC iPlayer available.

I can play video from the iPlayer website (I believe it wouldn't let me if it thought I wasn't in the UK) and have just played Starship Troopers to prove this.

Is there a direct link to the Market app. as no search returns it, perplexingly?

Well there is an iplayer app, in Spanish! and its not compatible with the xoom, but watching through the browser works fine so you don't need an app.

Update:
Really weird - using the market through the browser on my pc, put in a search for BBC iplayer and it comes up with the spanish version of the app (not compatible with xoom) but just search using "iplayer" brings up English language version of the app! - still not xoom compatible though! and if you try to install the ITV player, you get the french language version of the app! and again, not compatible with xoom. Good job they are watchable through the browser eh?

Just tried that link - takes you to the English language version but will only install on my 7 inch tablet and my phone, still no xoom compatibility.

iPlayer app is listed as incompatible on the market, and while installing the APK does open the app, videos do not play. The iPlayer mobile website is not compatible either.

The best way is to use the main iPlayer desktop version by ticking the option to force desktop view in the browser, from that you can create a bookmark on your homescreen or do as you wish.

Mine says GAS_EMEA_UCAHUBLWFRTCOREEU_P014 - assuming the P014 is the important bit.

I think I have the confirmation I initially sought now... it doesn't work as an app. on the Xoom. Unless someone has some magic dust...

P.S. - this is all fine on the Toshiba tablet, appears, installs, works.

But I have used it many times.Yesterday I upgraded to ICS, and will now try and reinstall BBCiplayer and see what happens.
