Was getting very frustrated with my 3G UK Xoom, very slow and laggy.

Took the decision to root it and apply Team EOS ICS and gotts say it brilliant!

Overclocked it to 1.6ghz and this has finally become the device that I wanted in the first place

Excellent how to guide on here and all worked a treat.

That is unbelievably optimistic. You hear stories of people getting carried away by the "When in Rome!" ideology but i severely doubt your xoom will get SO carried away he genuinely believes he's an american.

Hi can i ask you a question, as mine is very slow and laggy too. Where/what did you use to unlock yours and istall ICS. I am looking to unlock mine and also use one of those CPU tools (i.e. to increase cpu speed) but im a newbie and am a little apprehensive about doing it, really don't want to brick it.

Any advise would be very much appreciated

Info suggests should be out by now for the UK.

My system (Xoom MZ604) upgraded to 3.2.1 in or around January, but not to version 4.

A friend's Xoom upgraded early January to version 4, but he thinks this may have been because his could have been a 'grey' import from the USA.

Can't wait for the upgrade to version 4, but I don't understand why there should be any delay in sending it to the UK (particularly siunce I reckon we pay more for the Xoom here than in America....)

Welcome to the forum, always great to see more Brits on here, get's a bit lonely at times and I find myself starting to type in American!!!

The only info is on the Motorola owners site which states that UK wifi should get ICS Q2 which is April - June and there is no firm news about 3G versions.

Your friends xoom must of been a US import.

Motorola will always update US devices sooner than rest of world, makes no odds as to how much it costs or where and remember that some of our costs would have been taxes and duty.

I'm afraid thats how it will always be and always has been. I have ICS on my HTC and although its speedier, it is now showing glitches like rebooting itself and face unlock irritated me so much I disabled it so I know that although it may sort some glitches it won't change my life if you are wifi you could always root it using guides on here to get ICS and speedier updates direct from Google.

It is getting a bit ridiculous waiting for this update to ics. It is now the end of April and it is still not available to UK wifi xoom owners. I certainly do not wish to root or hack my xoom.

Could be anytime between now and June, we just have to be patient
