Bricked Xoom UK wifi (604) Please Help! Tried everything

    Please help!

I have the wifi version of the Motorola Xoom in the UK
Last night the xoom decideded to not open any apps and was having a hissy, so i tried to restore to factory settings using the android recovery
(power on + 2 second wait and down button etec)
After this the xoom got stuck at the Motorola Dual Core Symbol, and has not gone off it since

I have tried to load stock firmware on it using fastboot (android sdk)

Unlocked the bootloader and locked it, repeated etec

Tried custom firmware to no avail. It is still stuck on the Motorola symbol

    Can anyone help here
    Would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Put it on the charger until the charge indicator turns green for at least 30 minutes then do a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both. If that doesn't help redo the correct images from here, your Xoom needs to be well over 50 percent charge for fastboot to work.

I have been to the motorola website, and i have the correct stock images for my model, i have used fastboot now about 5 or 6 times, and loaded the correct firmware for my model, left the bootloader unlocked, locked it etec, and its still not working.

Your Xoom needs to be well over 50% charged or fastboot won't work. Like I said earlier, charge it until thre indicator turns green for at least 30 minutes before trying to fastboot the images.

If fastboot didnt help...you need to use SBF

How to install the essential files needed to flash back to an original stock ROM SBF.
This is necessary when you get stuck in the proverbial "bootloop".

Step is similar to this tutorial :

    Part II:

    Flashing the SBF:

How to flash the SBF: here

    Download SBF file: here
    http://sbf.droid-developers.org/everest/list.php

That link will link it back to Xoomforum: "Thanks to Steady Hawkin over at the Xoom forums for this on"

    Flashing the SBF:

    • Run RSD Lite as Admin
    • Power off your Xoom, press volume up and power at the same time until the device starts. It should boot with "Starting RSD protocol support 3"
    • Connect your supplied USB cable (I say supplied because 3rd party cables can cause issues)
    • Browse to the SBF file you extracted in the filename box (use the ... button to select)
    • Click on Port 1 and select Show Device. If it looks similar to the below image (Device and File Properties are both populated) you are all set
    • Click Run

    Gd Luck

Are you remembering to do fastboot erase cache before you try restarting the Xoom after you've flashed the ROM?

Given how long ago you posted this.... did you solve the problem yourself?
