after you reinstall the original build, you have to reinstall the radio baseband or 3g radio wont/may not work. did you not read post #40?
[RADIO] MZ601 upgrade to 07P .zip - xda-developers
Hello,
I download the zip file, but get lost in the description :-( I tried to look for TWRP but couldn't find a version for the Xoom, and when searching for CWM on the XDA site i only found others programs....
I tried with the adb og fastboot command, but nothing happen ?? I would be very happy if you could give a step-by-step how-to-do for a newbee like me ? Thanks in advance, Peter

after returning to stock, baseband was auto updated to 07p, so can i assume this step is not needed?
tried to reinstall us verizon 3g rom, but device would not boot...
so reinstalled eos
tried something similar on my samsung galaxy tab (original) and the cm10 rom...
before doing the process went thru the forums, and saw someone experienced the exact same issue i am having on my xoom...
he proposed not to use the cm10 rom but a brazilian rom (humberos.com.br) that has the issue resolved... "mtd fix"
installed it on my galaxy tab is on 4.1.2 with everything working despite the ancient hw...
pitty for xoom.... anyone heard of something similar (fix) for xoom?
try this, perhaps it will tell you what the issue is

I have tried the log collector as Rive suggest and got 36 pages ... I have search for phone, fail, sim and so on, but the log dosn't say me much. If you would be so kind I can mail the log to you ?
Like Beoz my baseband version is 07P. Under status it says Network unknown, Mobile network state disconnectet, IMEI SV 88.
to make a long story short, rive is right. it looks like the telephony settings are messed up after the first rooting.
returning to stock does not help.
returning to stock, 4.04, upgrades baseband to 07p, however it still cannot register with my wireless gsm carriers...
the status is same as with peterdahl...
thnx to all your suggestions, if anyone has managed to solve this, i would be grateful, and offer a weekend vacation for free in Crete.![]()
my suggestion is to troubleshoot this in the xda developers forum, or the motorola wifi/3g/4g forums.
My idea on this is that somehow you have corrupted/wiped out /deleted critical files, and restoring the build is not fixing/restoring everything, either that or you are pushing the wrong files/bad files.
You may only be able to fix it by completely wiping out the internal storage, wiping out completely the android files/image and restoring that image from a factory image.I dunno.
what have you done that other rooted/unrooted/build reinstall users of the MZ601 have not? Is this a common occurance for those that rooted the 3g umts xoom? could be that you simply have a bad SIM, or an invalid SIM?
Or perhaps since there are many build versions for the MZ601, you are trying to install the build that is incompatible with your 3g radio/SIM provider. I dunno
good luck

Sorry to drag up an old thread.
I'm having the exact same problem as these guys and wondered if anyone found the solution?
Thank you.
if it doesnt recognize your 3G data SIM, its either a damaged SIM card reader/slot, a unactivated/bad/wrong type sim card, your xoom MZ601 is running the improper software build for your region/carrier, software baseband is missing/software build is corrupted, or your white MZ601 is really a south american MZ605 Xoom (if your xoom is all black you do not have a mz601, if your xoom is grey you do not have 3g capable xoom)
for example, the German build is tmobile, Australia is telstra, Korea is skt. The German build Xoom may not recognize AT&T SIM as it is a T-Mobile build device.
The solution is to make sure you have the proper mz601 retail build and baseband version installed for your region, to make sure your data only 3g sim is already activated with a local carrier (you can verify this by calling carrier/inserting sim into other device), and if your rooted, and cannot connect to mobile 3G broadband, then restore stock build image and software.
if you cannot do the above, then you need to have your mz601 repaired or the software restored by either a third party or Motorola.
mz601 software builds: Xoom Software Downloads
Third party software restore/repair: Replacement Battery/Parts
